Two representatives from Savant visited Buckingham Palace on Monday 13th July 2009 after the firm was awarded the equivalent of a company knighthood in this year's Queen's Awards for Enterprise.
Chris Hartfield, Director, and Jonathan Harper, Director, attended a special evening reception for 2009 Queen's Award winners, hosted by Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Royal Family.
Savant won its Queen's Award in the International Trade category in April this year. The firm specialises in project and cost management and was commended for increasing overseas fee earnings to an aggregate of over £35 million over three years.
The AECOM office in Baku, led by teams from Savant and Major Projects Group (MPG), and including AECOM International Development has won a contract from Gilan Holding, the largest private holding corporation in Azerbaijan, to provide project management and construction management services for The Crescent, a landmark development in Baku, Azerbaijan.
AECOM was selected for its detailed knowledge and understanding of the local market, as well as our strong track record in the CIS.
On the 10 June 2009, KNAUF hosted a grand opening of their new mining process complex in Krasnogorsk, Moscow region.
The two year project of the mine's technical upgrade has come to its completion in Novomoskovsk. Savant has been working together with KNAUF for many years, and were responsible for the cost management on this project. The complex project involved the co-operation of German and Russian specialists, resulting in the creation of a vertical lift with underground crushing complex, loading and storage facilities and transport galleries.
On the 1st May 2009, Savant announced that it has joined AECOM, a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for clients around the world.
